Attaching a Document Within a Response

Using the Document Component in NestForms #

The Document Component allows responders to easily attach PDFs, Word documents, or Excel files to form responses, ensuring all necessary documentation is included in one place. This feature is particularly useful for Work Completion Reports, Project Management Forms, Snag List Forms, any agreements, schedules, or contracts, making it an essential tool for industries like Construction, Health and Safety, Quality Control, and GPS Land Surveying.

How to Add the Document Component #

You, as the administrator, can enable the Document Component by simply dragging it into the form item area within the NestForms Form Builder.

 

 

There is a Required checkbox meaning the responder must insert a document(s) before the response can be submitted. Administrators can also set Validation Rules to specify the number of required file uploads, ensuring a specific number of files are provided.

This allows for streamlined data collection, whether for Project Completion Reports, Health and Safety Audits, employee applications, or Land Survey documentation.

The Document component can be also used at a later stage by the administrator, so when you have a response that needs some additional document to be added later on, you can add the document question and hide it from the app. 

When the response is received, you can process this data internally and create an internal PDF report. Form administrators can then attach this internal report to the original response which will help you keep all information related to one response all in one place. 

Uploading Files as a Responder #

When completing a survey, responders will see an option to Upload documents directly from their device. They can attach supporting documents whether using the NestForms Mobile Survey App or filling out a form via WebFill. Uploaded files are securely stored and available for review in real-time, improving survey documentation and project management.
